Το πρωί της 21 Μαρτίου 2008 (ή το προηγούμενο βράδυ) έφυγε απο τη ζωή ο καθηγητής Nicolas Coldstream σε ηλικία 80 ετών. Μια σημαντική απώλεια για τον κόσμο της αρχαιολογίας.
Ο J. N. Coldstream ήταν Καθηγητής της Αιγαιακής Αρχαιολογίας στο Bedford College, University of London απο το 1975 έως το 1983. Απο το 1983 μέχρι την συνταξιοδότησή του το 1992 δίδαξε ως Καθηγητής Κλασικής Τέχνης και Αρχαιολογίας στο University College London.

It is with great sadness that we report the death of Nicolas Coldstream, Vice-President of the School, on Friday 21st March 2008.
At the request of his family, the symposium on Greek Geometric Pottery, scheduled for 29th March, will proceed in his memory. The event will be held in the Saloni of the Upper House, now beginning at 9.30am and ending with a lunchtime reception at which friends and colleagues are cordially invited to gather in celebration of Nicolas Coldstream’s life and work.
